New local placement for cross-cultural Mentored Ministry (MM720):
The Community Service Center of Wilmore-High Bridge (CSC) provides a wonderful laboratory to learn more about building authentic relationships with residents of Wilmore-High Bridge and the surrounding area. There are three aspects of ministry at the CSC: Needs Assistance (helping Wilmore-High Bridge residents with rent and utilities when struggling financially), food distribution, and clothing/household items from the CSC Thrift Shop. Relationships are built from providing friendly customer service at the CSC Thrift Shop, during food distribution opportunities, and joining the volunteer team. It also includes earning trust and respect by being a servant-leader and completing some mundane/everyday tasks around the Center.
