It is with sadness that I announce that Dr. Emilio Alvarez is leaving Asbury Seminary. Over the two years and eight months that Emilio has served as Associate Provost of Lifelong Learning, he has been a wonderful colleague, a creative and insightful thinker, and a good friend. Just to name some of the many highlights, Emilio has rebuilt the Lifelong Learning team from the ground up, traveled tirelessly both domestically and internationally on behalf of the institution, conceptualized the global hub concept, published, taught courses, and continued to offer his robust leadership gifts in service to his denominational communion.
I am sincerely grateful for his contributions to the institution. However, far more than that, his input, wise counsel, and friendship have made me better at what I do and who I am. Thank you, Emilio, and may Jesus add his blessing to your work, your family, and your life as you seek to follow Him in this new phase of life and ministry.
