Prayer for Ukraine
Heavenly Father, with deep sorrow and concern, we cry out to you for the people who are suffering during this war in Ukraine. Lord, have mercy. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. Protect and draw near to yourself those who are suffering and in danger. Preserve your people who take refuge in you. We pray that food supplies, water, and electricity do not fail.
Protect the refugees fleeing the ravages of war, whether internally displaced or crossing borders into neighboring countries. Grant them your presence, provision, and hospitality, whether from strangers or friends.
God of peace and justice, we ask you to arrest this violence and destruction and confound the enemy’s strategies. We pray that evil intentions will turn to mercifulness. We pray for the laying down of weapons. We pray for leaders with decision-making power for wisdom, discernment, and compassion to guide their decisions. May they rally to help Ukraine quickly during its time of need.
We pray in the mighty name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
How you can pray for Ukraine (prayer points from Ukrainian pastors):
Pray for the boldness of Ukrainian Christians since religious minorities are on Putin’s blacklist (Protestants are a minority in Ukraine)
Pray for wisdom in making decisions (we have not gone this way before)
Pray for us to use every opportunity to minister the love of God to our society.
Pray for safety and provision for refugees
Pray for peace in Ukraine – for God to move mightily and turn back the enemy away from Ukraine, bringing the enemy’s plans to nothing
Pray for the security of Ukrainians and preservation of life
Pray for God’s kingdom to come, and will to be done, in Ukraine
Pray for wisdom for world leaders, that God would move in their hearts and guide their plans
Pray that God would make His name known across Ukraine and Russia, and doors would open for the Gospel during this difficult time
