We have 2 Wilmore campus visitors coming on Tuesday, Feb. 13, who want to share ministry opportunities with Asbury Seminary students. Both may be found in the student center and in the Library meeting rooms for private conversations.
Our visitors are ATS Alum. Dr. Myke Merrill from Parma Christian Church in Hilton, NY, and ATS Alum. Dr. Bruce Emmert, from the Great Plains Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Dr. Merrill comes to meet with students and interview them for the position of Co-Lead Pastor at Parma Christian Fellowship Church, an independent, Wesleyan-oriented congregation in Hilton, NY. This position has been created with the intent of the candidate receiving training and mentoring alongside the founding Lead Pastor (Rev. Merrill) as he begins the transition of assuming other roles in the church and eventually retiring, at which time the Co-Lead Pastor will transition into the position of Lead Pastor. Rev. Merrill is strategically seeking a candidate for this position from among our own solid student body here at Asbury in order to find the best of the best. He is willing to journey with an ideal candidate who may still have some schooling ahead. No matter where you are in your studies, if you are a developing leader with strong spiritual formation and congregational care skills, this may be the job for you! Please stop by the student center to greet Dr. Merrill or sign up now for a private interview (CLICK HERE). The job with an application form is also posted on Connect under Forums / Jobs.
Dr. Bruce Emmert is a District Superintendent from the Cabinet of the Great Plains UMC, and would love to talk with students interested in learning about the many opportunities for ministry there. The Great Plains UMC spans two states, Kansas and Nebraska, and represents vital ministry in contexts that are rural, urban, suburban and everything in between. Dr. Emmert is available to meet with
interested students throughout the day and will be hosng a dinner at 6:00 p.m. Shaker Village that
evening. Sign up today for an appointment or make a dinner reservation!
