Asbury Theological Seminary is grieved to announce the passing of Dr. Dale Walker, a longtime adjunct professor. Dr. Walked passed away on December 13, 2025, leaving behind a lasting impact on Asbury Seminary faculty, staff, and students.
Dr. Walker was a graduate of the University of Southern Illinois, Drew Theological Seminary, and Cornell University. Dr. Walker and Alice lived in Indonesia for 30 years, where he created a concordance from the Indonesian Bible and taught at several theological schools. In his retirement, Dr. Walker served as an adjunct professor at Asbury Seminary for 15 years, teaching on Islam, reaching the Muslim world, and foreign and biblical languages. He was also known for his love of singing, working crossword puzzles, collecting books, and memorizing Bible verses in Hebrew and English.
A memorial service for Dr. Walker will be held in April at Brooks-Howell Home, 266 Merrimon Ave., Asheville, NC. Please join Asbury Seminary in extending heartfelt condolences to Dr. Walker’s family, friends, and former students.
